Marie Müller was a consistent presence in the Thorns defense during her first NWSL season in 2024, starting 20 of her 25 matches and logging 2 assists across 1,824 minutes played.
She signed for Portland via a transfer from Germany’s SC Freiburg, where she played a major role in the club’s first two appearances in the final of the DFP-Pokal Fraun (2018/19, 2022/23). In addition to her strong defensive abilities to neutralize the opponent’s attack, Müller also recorded 14 goals and 8 assists across 112 matches for Freiburg.
Müller is a German national who has been called up for senior team national camp and representing her country in the 2016 U-17 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the 2016 U-17 UEFA Women’s Championship (which Germany won) and the 2019 U-19 UEFA Women’s Championship.
