Since joining the NWSL as a Thorn in 2020, Morgan Weaver has been one of Portland’s most pivotal offensive players, scoring 19 goals with 10 assists across 75 appearances.
As a rookie, Weaver established herself a mainstay forward Portland when she helped the side clinch the 2020 NWSL Fall Series and Community Shield then followed it up in 2021 when the Thorns won the NWSL Challenge Cup, NWSL Shield and Women’s International Champions Cup with Weaver’s contributions up front. She scored a career high seven goals for the first time in 2022 to help Portland lift its third NWSL Championship and would equal that goal tally again in 2023 when she registered a career high 1,779 minutes played that year.
At the international level, Weaver has two caps with the senior U.S. Women’s National Team and has been rostered for the U.S. U-23’s.
Weaver joined the Thorns after she was selected as the #2 overall pick in the 2020 NWSL College Draft from Washington State University. As a Cougar (2016-19), Weaver started all 85 games she played and etched herself in program history books, ranking #1 in points (98) and post-season goals (6) as well as #2 in overall goals scored (43). Her contributions helped WSU achieve three straight NCAA Tournament appearances (2017, 2018, 2019), including a run to the College Cup Semifinals her senior year.
