
A notable name in the NWSL, Sam Hiatt signed for Portland to help bolster its defense and leadership ahead of the 2025 season.
Her previous NWSL experience includes a stint with NJ/NY Gotham FC (2024) and OL Reign (2020-23), serving a key role in the latter’s run to lifting the 2022 NWSL Shield.
Hiatt’s collegiate career began at Boston College before she transferred to Stanford University to help the Cardinal lift the 2017 and 2019 NCAA DI National Championships as well as three straight Pac-12 Championships (2017, 2018, 2019).
Hiatt has represented the U.S. internationally at the youth level, captaining the 2018 U-20 team at the 2018 U-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
